The Rural Progressive & Afro-Southeast Georgian is a media venture in conjunction with the Waycross-based Cultivating Lives Educational Services, Inc. that covers news, politics and culture in Central and South rural Georgia from an African-American perspective.
With this media venture, we want to highlight new businesses, cover enlightening personalities, local issues and events important to Central and South rural Georgia. However, we are intentional in our coverage of local politics that encompasses the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 12th Congressional Districts.
The scope of our readership goes beyond Ware County. It will cover news stories from Lowndes County (Valdosta) to as far north as Ben Hill (Fitzgerald), Coffee (Douglas), Crisp (Cordele), Toombs (Vidalia/Lyons) and as far east as Brunswick.

This project received donations from Back Voters Matter Fund & Southern Power Fund during the initial start up and will solely rely on in-kind donations and the affordable $1 per paper fee. This activity builds out communication tools and staff to advance narrative and culture change.
